I recently had the pleasure of speaking at the beautiful Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas. The topic of the day was "Fueling for Your Personal Best." I would like to extend my deepest thanks to the folks at Ouachita Baptist University (OBU) for inviting me to share my knowledge and expertise with their students and staff.
OBU is a fantastic institution, renowned for its programs in dietetics, kinesiology, and athletics. Their commitment to these fields is apparent not only in their academic offerings but also in the practical aspects of campus life.
The Dining Experience at OBU
One of the first things that struck me about OBU was the quality of their dining. The food is simply amazing, providing students with nutritious and delicious options that fuel their bodies for academic and athletic success. The dining hall is an excellent testament to their commitment to promoting good health and nutrition among their students.
Dietetics at OBU
The dietetics program at OBU offers a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for a variety of careers in the field of nutrition. The program emphasizes evidence-based practice and critical thinking, equipping students with the skills they need to make a positive impact in the field of dietetics.
Kinesiology at OBU
The kinesiology department at OBU is equally impressive. They offer a wide range of courses that span the breadth of the
field, from exercise science to sport psychology. The faculty are experts in their respective fields, and they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom.
Athletics and Strength Training at OBU
OBU also has a strong athletics and strength training program. The university recognizes the importance of physical activity in promoting overall health and well being, and they provide numerous
opportunities for students to get involved in sports and fitness.
Cheerios Team Challenge
One of the highlights of my visit was participating in the Cheerios Team Challenge. This fun and engaging event encourages students to enjoy a healthy snack without even knowing! The challenge involves eating a bite of Cheerios, taking a picture, and posting it with the hashtag #cheeriosteamchallenge. It was a great way to promote healthy eating habits in a fun and engaging way.
In conclusion, my visit to Ouachita Baptist University was a truly rewarding experience. I was struck by the commitment of the university to promoting health and wellness among their students, both in the classroom and in everyday campus life. The dietetics, kinesiology, and athletics programs are top-notch, and the dining options are second to none. I am
grateful for the opportunity to have shared my knowledge with the OBU community
and I look forward to seeing the great things they will undoubtedly accomplish in the future.
